The Yikong YK41012 is a feature-packed 1:10 scale 4WD rock crawler built around Yikong's latest ultra-low centre of gravity chassis platform. Designed to combine technical crawling ability with realistic trail driving, the YK41012 features metal portal axles, a two-speed transmission, manually lockable front and rear differentials and an all-metal drivetrain. This version is the brushed YK41012 finished in Grey.
A major feature of the YK41012 is its ultra-low centre of gravity transmission layout. Positioning the transmission and drivetrain mass lower in the chassis helps improve stability on steep climbs and side slopes, while the metal portal axles provide additional under-axle clearance for negotiating rocks, roots and uneven ground. The complete drivetrain runs on ball bearings for smooth and efficient operation.
Power comes from a 550-size 32T brushed motor paired with an independent 60A brushed electronic speed controller capable of running up to 3S LiPo power. The relatively high-turn brushed motor is well suited to crawler use, providing controllable low-speed torque rather than simply chasing outright speed. Yikong recommends 2S or 3S LiPo power for the YK41012.
The remotely operated two-speed gearbox gives the YK41012 a useful spread of performance. Low range provides the controlled wheel speed required for technical crawling, while high range gives the truck additional pace for trail driving and moving between obstacles. Front and rear differentials can also be manually locked, allowing the driver to choose between maximum traction over difficult terrain or freer differential action when improved turning performance is preferred.
Steering is handled by a powerful 25KG metal gear servo equipped with a servo buffer protection system to help absorb impacts transmitted back through the steering. Metal steering links, metal drivetrain components and realistic portal axle housings give the YK41012 a considerably more substantial drivetrain specification than many entry-level RTR crawlers.
A 2.4GHz 6-channel radio system provides control of the vehicle and its two-speed transmission, with a quoted radio range of approximately 100 metres. Large 116mm crawler tyres provide plenty of contact area and help complement the portal axle layout when tackling loose, rocky and uneven surfaces.
