Product Description
The Yikong YK4084 Pro is a large-scale 1:8 4WD brushless rock crawler combining serious trail capability with an officially licensed BJ212 scale body. Built around Yikong's low centre of gravity crawler platform, the YK4084 Pro features front and rear portal axles, remotely operated differential locks, a two-speed transmission and a Hobbywing brushless power system, making it equally at home tackling technical climbs or covering ground on the trail.
The Pro version is powered by a Hobbywing 1800KV brushless motor and ESC combination, replacing the brushed power system fitted to the standard YK4084. The brushless system supports 2S and 3S LiPo batteries as well as 6-9 cell NiMH packs, providing smooth low-speed control together with the additional efficiency and performance expected from a brushless crawler setup.
Weight distribution has been carefully considered throughout the chassis design. The motor sits 32mm further forwards and its centre of gravity is 13.8mm lower, while the battery tray has been moved 70.5mm forwards. Placing more of the drivetrain and battery mass lower and towards the front axle improves stability on steep climbs and helps keep the front tyres loaded when tackling technical sections.
The remotely operated two-speed transmission allows the driver to select low range for controlled crawling or high range for faster trail driving directly from the transmitter. Front and rear differential locks are also remotely controlled, giving the driver maximum traction when negotiating difficult obstacles while retaining the ability to unlock the differentials for easier turning on less demanding terrain.
Front and rear portal axles increase drivetrain clearance and help improve the YK4084 Pro's ability to pass over rocks, roots and other obstacles without relying on excessively large tyres. The chassis itself uses CNC-machined metal frame rails, while CNC aluminium adjustable oil-filled shock absorbers provide controlled suspension movement and allow the suspension setup to be tuned to suit different terrain.
Steering is handled by a powerful 25KG metal gear servo, providing the torque required to control the large 135mm crawler tyres when loaded against rocks or other obstacles. The high-traction IIR rubber tyres measure 50mm wide, giving the YK4084 Pro a substantial footprint for loose and uneven surfaces.
Scale detail is another major part of the YK4084 Pro. The officially licensed BJ212 body features transparent windows and a full-scale interior, while a complete remotely controlled LED lighting system adds further realism for trail driving. At more than 600mm long and weighing approximately 4.2kg, this is a noticeably larger and more substantial crawler than a conventional 1:10 model.
