Product Description

The PD Racing TK16 is a compact 1:16 scale 4WD brushed RC truck designed to deliver proper hobby-grade performance in a smaller and highly portable package. Powered by a 390 brushed motor and supplied with a 2S 1800mAh LiPo battery, the TK16 is capable of speeds of up to approximately 22mph, making it quick enough for plenty of off-road fun while remaining manageable for newer RC drivers.

Despite its smaller size, the TK16 uses a full four-wheel-drive transmission together with a slipper clutch and metal front CVD drive shafts. The slipper clutch helps protect the drivetrain from sudden shock loads during hard acceleration and landings, while the metal front CVDs provide a stronger and smoother connection to the front wheels. A full set of ball bearings is fitted throughout the drivetrain to reduce friction and improve efficiency.

Power is provided by an RC390 brushed motor fitted with an aluminium heat sink and controlled through a 25A 2-in-1 brushed ESC and receiver unit. Combining the ESC and receiver keeps the electronics package compact and lightweight, while a 3KG high-torque steering servo provides responsive control of the front wheels.

The supplied 2.4GHz radio system includes selectable 50%, 75% and 100% speed settings, making the TK16 particularly suitable for newer drivers. The maximum performance can be restricted while learning before gradually increasing the available speed as confidence improves.

Fully independent suspension with adjustable shock absorbers helps the TK16 deal with rough ground, small jumps and uneven off-road surfaces, while the tough composite chassis and substantial front and rear bumpers provide protection during general bashing. At only 265mm long, the TK16 is also small enough to carry easily in a rucksack, making it a great option when a full-size 1:10 model is simply too large to take with you.

Front and rear LED bumper lights add visibility and give the truck a more distinctive appearance in lower light conditions. The quick-release body system also makes access to the battery and electronics straightforward when charging, cleaning or maintaining the vehicle.

The included 7.4V 1800mAh 2S LiPo battery provides an approximate runtime of up to 30 minutes depending on the terrain and driving style. A 1A USB LiPo charger is also included, meaning the TK16 arrives almost completely ready to run straight from the box.
